Not everyone can recognize the difference between a good moment and a bad; good lighting and bad, or even a good picture and a bad one. But if you can, then you will appreciate having your pictures taken by Pat Witter. How many times have you looked at your breed magazine and wondered “why did they use that photograph”?
As a professional canine photographer, I use my experience to know how to take the best quality pictures and precisely when to snap the shutter so that I capture you and your dog at your best. And, as a long time exhibitor and dog owner, I know the difference between when you and your dog look your best, and when you don’t; whether you’re relaxing outside the ring, gaiting and stacking your dog; making the most of your 2 minutes when the judge is getting ready to make his final decision, or showcasing your dog before the final decision in Best in Show. Whether in the conformation ring, working your dog at home, the breed show ring, agility or obedience, or relaxing at home or the kennel, I feel I am able to seize the opportunity and capture that one perfect moment in time when you and your dog are at your best. My job isn’t finished until I have “that perfect shot”. And I will not take a photograph just because. I have an eye for design and knowledge of how to frame and capture that special moment in time.
Because perception is uniquely personal, there are always differences of opinion on what makes a good photograph. However, when you see a GREAT photograph, you know it and people do agree. My goal is to use my knowledge of dogs, my artist’s eye, and my photographic training to bring to you the most beautiful image you have ever seen of your dog. You will KNOW IT’S GREAT when you see it.
